ah ok what sort or juice nic level and pg/vg ration do you mix at?

70/30 or 80/20 depending on my mood when mixing, always 3mg nic content, sometimes it's purely percentage left after adding flavours and nic (pg based) and I don't worry to much over ratio

Cheers, I’m just struggling to figure out what is making my mixes harsh.

I’m about to test a couple of mixes now and as I said I’ll just have to drop the nic level down if it persists.

I have tried a few of my mixes now. Some have been good.
I made a The Black clone which is nice not harsh and a apple and black currant which is not harsh.

The ones I have tried that are harsh are a recipe on ELR called Buddha (sweet mango, sweet lychee and sweet tangerine all Capella)
Another is Blue Slush (everythingliquids flavour)
Another is Blueberry and Peach (Flavour Art flavours)

I still have to test:
Mango (Capella)
Banana (flavour art)

As far as I can tell the flavour mixes are nice it’s just the throat hit you get on some of them that is really disheartening! I can’t figure out why it might be.

I will have to reduce the nicotine to a level that I can tolerate. I’m just confused as to how a couple of the flavours are ok no harshness what so ever and then most of them are harsh ?

Any ideas folks would be greatly appreciated?

With the bought eliquids I get they are usually 70vg/30pg or 80vg/20pg always 3mg nic and they are always sooo smooth barely notice the throat hit if at all!

Yeh that’s the one but I used 72mg nic, obviously lol, and I made it 3mg strength.
Also I only really used the flavour %’s as I made it a 10ml 80vg/20pg

Was your nic VG as in the recipie?
Usually harshness comes from higher PG content or over flavoured.
Dont think 14% is the issue so steering towards pgvg ratio.

Yeh my nic is VG. I have done a load of test to define what is causing the harshness in my recipes and I’ve found it to be nicotine related.
I have tried 2 different suppliers of nicotine and both have the same effect.
I tested VG on its own - Fine
I tested Vg & PG - Fine
I tested Vg, pg and flavour - Fine
Do the same but add nic and it goes harsh, which is why I bought a new batch of nic but still no improvement. Most not all of my recipes are too harsh for me to vape.
I shake it very well before use.
Ive used syringes and now I use scales but still the same results.
