Luckily I’ve never needed them, but I’ve known a couple of volunteers and I know the risk they take for little or no material gain. I’ll put in for a couple.

I personally know a few of our local lifeboat crew. Each and every one put themselves at great risk to help others in distress They are true heroes in my book.
