Agreed, I do think that lifting mask requirements is madness - it's cheap and easy to carry on with.
it’s extremely disrespectful of those working in shops, public transport, other public facing jobs to say: we’ll have 100,000 cases a day at least, many more will die, but we’ll not insist anybody wears masks or distances themselves from you for infection prevention reasons because we are ideological nut jobs and we don’t care. good luck.

pretty disgraceful.

......... and about 400 people a day being admitted to hospital right now. Even if it doesn't end in death, it's not likely to be pleasant?

the other thing is, i’ll not be able to whisper obscenities at people that annoy me without a mask on. there’s no way i’m giving it up.

although from what i understand sturgeon plans to keep the mask requirement. she must be thinking the same thing. :)

35 deaths in the past 24 hours. Is that acceptable? Are we going in the right direction?

About 1400 people die a day in the UK on average.... I don't know if 35 is acceptable, but it's inevitable.

I am just getting wobbly and a bit angry over opening up further. Maybe I shouldn't participate in these threads.

But does it become more or less acceptable when you might have done something to stop it?

I don't know mate to be honest ... 'acceptable' seems a strange word to use to me. We locked down several times, we've had various rules and regulations, we've had Christmas cancelled, we've had the vaccines for over 6 months.

There has to be a balance, we could put the whole population in quarantine for 3 months, that would probably work but is that acceptable?

I think we need to make our own decisions now, if nothing else it's pretty clear to me that the government hasn't a scooby.

It's fine mate... I wasn't having a go. Just discussing. :10:

I'm getting wobbly and angry at the thought of this continuing for another 6 months. :D

I'm not sure this thread is doing me any good either.
