really, you think I'm a risk?

... yup, shouldn't have bothered having the jabs. :(
Of course you should, they help to protect you from getting seriously ill or dying. The point is only 50% fall in to that category with half the population not having had two doses, and despite being relatively safe yourself you can still contract and pass the virus to unprotected people. Don't they deserve the same protection as you before all restrictions are lifted to allow 100k infections a day? Peer reviewed research shows one jab provides minimal protection against delta and two jabs are needed. Does it not make sense to wait a few weeks until 70 to 75% are vaccinated, the figure quoted right from the start as the magical figure for vaccine induced heard immunity? Should we not be protecting our young from 10,000 long covid cases every day? Shouldn't we be protecting non-covid people who need hospital treatments by not letting the NHS get overrun by covid? Is an extra few weeks really worth risking everything over when hundreds of scientists and doctors and the NHS is warning that the risk being taken is dangerous and unethical when vaccines are ready and waiting for those yet to be protected?

It's fine mate... I wasn't having a go. Just discussing. :10:

I'm getting wobbly and angry at the thought of this continuing for another 6 months. :D

I'm not sure this thread is doing me any good either.

All good mate. I'm not angry at you.

We’ve been very strongly advised to continue wearing masks at work, while we won’t be expecting customers to. I’ve gotten quite adept at moving around a close-proximity piece of furniture to place a physical barrier between myself and customers who are unable to stand at an acceptable distance from me :grin2:

Good man. You too? Well, getting better at least. Tinkering with shit and rebuilding the temple [emoji41]
Good to hear. Mine needs a bit of modernisation as well if I can get the motivation to do it.
Took delivery of my new truck after a 3 month wait so enjoying that at the moment and trying not to wind people up which I thought I was doing well until yesterday. I seem to have the habit of saying the wrong thing just lately so haven't been posting too much [emoji23] Think I upset Andy52 yesterday [emoji57]

I wasn't gobbing off at all. Just reacting to your supposed "long hours" statement

thank you, bad start and bad day all day and night yesterday, I apologise for being so tetchy.

Edit. To add. If it's not in her job description then she shouldn't have to do it surely. Can't she have a word with the teachers union ?

She needs to join a union, but cant afford the subs. Moral is low at the school, everyone is worn out - except for the teachers off supposedly self isolating and or being ill :hmm: on full pay.

I've followed this thread and seen the above poll change slowly from no masks to wear masks

when Boris announced the freedom day thing there was a sigh of relief now though people are hesitant I can understand why it's like no one cares "people will die" that's great let's hope its none of us that have followed the rules to the letter

but I feel for @Simon G his points are valid so are @zouzounaki @Mitz @Crewella and everyone else they may conflict but the arguments the view people bring here are all sensible but the sad thing is the people in power have just lost the plot who can you go to, to get the right advice there isn't anyone

who can you go to, to get the right advice there isn't anyone

that’s the problem, i think it’s a safe bet to trust various experts in the field like the hundred odd scientists and medics that signed the lancet letter, or the guy in the videos you and @Simon G have been posting for the last while. even then you get a range of opinions. but the problem is many people, probably the majority, won’t be looking at or hearing this stuff, and just hear the government message broadcast on the telly, radio news etc or in the tabloids. or potentially even worse, youtube facebook and whatsapp groups. and look forward to freedom day when they can go out for a pint and breath all over each other. a lot of contradictory stuff out there too.
