I don't know mate to be honest ... 'acceptable' seems a strange word to use to me. We locked down several times, we've had various rules and regulations, we've had Christmas cancelled, we've had the vaccines for over 6 months.

There has to be a balance, we could put the whole population in quarantine for 3 months, that would probably work but is that acceptable?

I think we need to make our own decisions now, if nothing else it's pretty clear to me that the government hasn't a scooby.
I agree there has to be a balance, but I think at least keeping masks would help protect people (like me) who have to deal with the public in an indoor environment at work. It was bad enough with the laws in place?

you should look at the open letter or watch the video i posted above. they aren’t calling for a lockdown, just sensible measure to be in place for another short period until more than 75% of people are vaccinated, to prevent: the potential of long covid for potentially 10s of thousands of children and youngsters; the possibility of a vaccine resistant variant coming along that will have us right back at the start; and many unnecessary cases of hospitalisation and death. that, to me, seems “acceptable” and balanced, as opposed to what is being proposed, which is being described by the same experts as unethical, illogical and dangerous.

yeah, I hear you. But I think it's only going to make you feel better, rather than actually make you safer.

I'm double jabbed and I test myself regularly.... when I walk around a shop I wear a mask.

Do you think you have more chance of catching it from me or the guy who says "I'm exempt" and goes on anti-mask protests at the weekend, visits the pub regularly and doesn't give a fuck about you?

If I'm not required to wear one I won't, but I don't think that puts you in any more significant danger.

of course it’s significantly more dangerous, for someone who has contact with random strangers at work to have them up close and breathing over her, than it would be if they were distanced and wearing a mask. surely that must be obvious?

yeah 3 weeks to flatten the curve, sorry mate I've heard it before... I wish I hadn't even had the vaccine now. That was a risk I took and now I'm wondering why I even took that risk.

really, you think I'm a risk?

... yup, shouldn't have bothered having the jabs. :(

To be honest, I think I actually have more chance of catching it from the family that come in and bring their kids because they're on holiday?

you might soon be glad you took the risk when even the government are telling us there will be 100,000 cases a day just shortly.

no, not you personally, but collectively everybody that is out and about without any masks mingling in about each other. it’s a risk, for sure for somebody that works with the public.

But you are a risk - jabs don't stop people spreading it to other people? That's the point?

I'm a tough old boot, I'll get by .......... but I do think there needs to be some clarity on the responsibilies of employers for their staff? Customers too, but customers have a choice, staff don't?
