The future of vaping............

Classic scaremongering by the powers that be, pitch it high and the relief when it ends up being lower then gets accepted as least worst case, this is all just mooted at this point and still to be set once the consultation is concluded. Just wait until it's actually set in stone through law and parliament before all the panicking starts. You got two years, a lot can change.

In conclusion.

Calm the fuck down bunty...

We are just shooting the breeze fella with what the current enemy have told us in their plan of attack, it's all bows and arrows at the moment, if and when their plans change we can wheel out the SpongeBob with the cannons:)

Now they are down to one small cabinet of mods, everything else is liquid or disposables.
Sad isn't it, always happens when the big companies see a niche thing they can dominate - they chuck a load of money at marketing and shiny presentation, produce a sub-par product, make a big splash and ultimately edge out the actually creative folk still running small companies who invented the kit and opened the first shops and generally started the whole thing in the first place.

I'm still pissed off that some idiot showed the internet to control freaks and 'business people', it used to be such a nice place before it had the capability to make people rich !

I have a vague dream that one day, all the IT folk in the world will band together and "turn the internet off", with a final message to all users saying...

"Look, we gave you this great communication tool to bring the world together and give you instant access to the entirety of human knowledge and look what you did with it. Perhaps we'll turn it back on next year if you promise to behave."

I obviously think that Taxes are going to make the prices of E-Liquid go up. Though i don't see the prices of Companies making E-Liquid will go up that much. Some Companies or Brands have been scalping Vapers from the beginning. The cost of anything Vape Related to make is Pennies not Pounds yet we as Vapers are willing to pay it. It's like anything you buy in your lifetime, it has cost fuck all to produce but sells for ridiculous prices because us consumers feel we need or want it and some are prepared to go that extra mile and pay more for something. I like Certain Liquids but i am not going to pay extortionate amounts of money to keep vaping it. If your willing to accept whats happening and pay the extra cost then more fool you. I say Good Luck to all you who decide to DIY your own liquid and wish you all the Best. I myself will Vape till the Prices rise then stop Vaping altogether. For me it's just another thing that has run it's course and finished. In all honesty when i smoked i wasn't an unhappy smoker infact i was quite happy, it was illness that caused me to quit though it was never said to me that smoking had caused what happened to me. I have always been one of those people who has never worried about what's coming in the future as worrying isn't going to stop it coming so why do it. Live for today because you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow.

Mother-Flippin' government, had to stick their beak in and ruin things. Things used to be so good. Then we had TPD, we adjusted and made do with their stupid restrictions. Now they've realized there's more cash to be made from us vapers. They're losing too much revenue from us stopping smoking and they want it back.

I hope we don't get to the point where we just have memories to look back on of the time vaping was a big part of our lives. But as mentioned above, a lot can happen between now and then. We just have to cross our fingers and hope for the best.

If it all goes teats up I'm going underground, becoming a member of whatever secret DIY e liquid groups there are and trying to carry on regardless. All I know is I don't want to stop vaping and I won't be able to afford to keep going at my current rate of consumption if they start increasing prices on everything. /rant
I will just order a new bath tub and go into 'business'

Do you have any idea how much it costs to produce and sell something in this country? Just think about how many bottles of e-liquid you'd have to sell every month to pay a minimal amount of a few staff members along with just the obvious monthly running costs of the business.

Honestly, I'm surprised anyone can make it work... which most aren't, they are either struggling or gone already. If you think they are 'scalping' you and it costs 'fuck all' to produce then you are mistaken.

I've been DIY for years now and yes it's very inexpensive, but that's because I don't have any of the costs that a business does. I don't need to print labels or packaging, I can mix on my kitchen table, I don't need to pay anyone or have anything tested. I don't need stock, staff or premises. That doesn't mean you are getting ripped of when you do have to contribute towards that when you buy something.

When all that's said and done and factored in...they should be/probably making/looking at least a 64% mark up, some will be more...the question they will have is whether to take some hit of some kind to their mark up in the short term to see how it goes.
