UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

I'm confised by that as well. I thought the 600 puff ones were meant to be the 2ml TPD disposables.

Afaik the TPD regs make no mention of the # of puffs but do restrict capacity to 2ml if the country decided to implement it which some didn't. How many puffs you can get from 2ml of juice is a bit like how long is a piece of string.

I also don't understand the TPD compliant "5000 puff disposables" (or similar high number) that have been coming out the last few months...
a 5000 puff disposable could only be tpd compliant if you can refill it. you can’t get 5000 puffs from 2ml of liquid

I'm not confused about how they (the TPD compliant 5000 puff disposables) operate; they are essentially a refillable rechargeable disposable with a non-changeable coil (or pod), that comes with a bottle of liquid.. or some have prefilled 2ml pods that are separate on a cylinder, that you turn round to use the new pod when required (like bullets in a gun cylinder)...

The non-changeable coil (or pod) is why I can't see the point in them, when there are reusable ones (not disposable) you can change the coil, for the same price...

I haven't come across these things.

Presumably to still class it as a disposable either there's no charge port to recharge the battery or no way to replace the coil when it burns out.

they churn them out and offer an “oem” service, whereby you or i could set up a disposable company...
Yes, there a few (probably not many) factories in Shenzhen that manufacture the disposables, and all (pretty much or actually) offer OEM services...

That's why you get you get Found Mary and Bloody Mary that are identical in shape & size to Lost Mary (probably even exact same flavour), but are different brands/companies, even though they are made in the same factory.

Yep, and these companies are nothing more than 'money hoovers' churning these things out in their billions. They couldn't care less what damage they do to our UK vape scene and they will keep doing this insane shit as long as the money keeps pouring in.

I was in the States last year and got caught with my pants down. I’d driven 90 minutes only to realise I’d left my mod at home, so I bought a disposable, which was allegedly 6000 puffs
I can confirm the tank / pod size on that was advertised as 8ml.

That's cos they are still fairly new (before the ship finally sails!)... the TPD compliant 5000 puff disposables are all rechargeable, you just can't replace the coil or pod (hence limiting to 3500-5000 puffs approx).

Which just goes to show that dumb and ill thought out regulation has unintended consequences. If there was no dumbass rule restricting capacity to 2ml then the environmental impact of disposables could be a fraction of what it is now with people not restricted to buying disposables that most likely won't even see them through the day.

Thank you. I guess that means you buy the unit which includes a 10ml bottle of juice.

Now all their clever marketers have to do is try to figure out a way of claiming that as they are 'refillable' they're not 'displosables' and try to dodge the ban.

In Fairness

this is not unlike how a lot of the newer 10ml Nic Salt e-liquid companies are working now in the UK ... a lot of it is white labelled from a handful of companies

and why each range has largely the same flavours in it.

Blue Razz this - Blue Razz that.
