Vaping To Be Taxed

I vape upto 60ml a day, that's £13.20 per day in tax alone. Add in vat at 20%, well...

So it costs me roughly £50 for 1000ml bottle shot + nic (3mg)
Are we now saying it’s an additional £220?

What a fabulous incentive to quit smoking by the hard of thinking U.K. Govt.

As others have said it would be ridiculous to tax shortfills if this is all about reducing nicotine consumption. The shots are a more reasonable target. Failing that I look forward to e-liquid firms packaging their current range as for use with diffusers (aromatherapy) 😉

Be prepared for a massive rise in black market, the demise of the vape store (also online), exacerbated by whatever flavour restrictions they impose...

Longfills will be the cheapest, problems start if they decide to tax nic base, then yes it will be £220 per litre in sin taxes.

Glad i vape zero nic..

If the Chinese mods/pods/tanks makers pull out because next to no one is filling up the tank, then it's game over

Or a grey market....trusted folks on Telegram groups
That sounds like black market to me...
Grey market is when you have legit businesses (or shops etc) that sell illegal stuff, but still pay tax (VAT) on it (and other applicable taxes)...
e.g. petrol stations that sell illegal disposables.

Any shops that would sell e-liquid when it has the excise duty tax on it, and in the event that the tax has not been paid would risk getting done by HMRC, so would make it more of an offence (shop selling it would either not be registered, or avoiding tax). The tax would be applied (and paid) at manufacture, so essentially the manufacturer would have to pass on the tax to buyer (or distributor).
