Vaping To Be Taxed

If the Chinese mods/pods/tanks makers pull out because next to no one is filling up the tank, then it's game over
I think there will be some liquid about to fill up stuff, but it will be more expensive...
.. and if the flavour restrictions are harsh, then there will presumably be limited options from mainly the larger distribution outlets (supermarkets etc).

In the event of harsh flavour restrictions there could be a market for unflavoured nicotine e-liquid (nic shots) that users would add flavouring to, but I'm not sure how viable that market would be (for a number of reasons).. and the nic shots would get taxed as well of course...

Soooooo.....

What would happen if companies brought out 9.9ml bottles ???
Or, more to the question, how much tax on 2ml pre-filled pods? (for example)

I presume the liquid to fill them would have had (or supposed) to be taxed already...

I think the big players VV, TW n the like will take the hit £3 for 10ml in an attempt to survive and gain customers, they won't want 88vape n that , hoovering up

I'll just go back to making my own e-liquid. I'll stock up on nicotine before the tax comes in. Starmer can FRO.

I just skimmed it. It looks like DIY liquid will be relatively unaffected:
Vaping products will be considered ‘manufactured’ at the point the final product is made. In many cases this will be when vaping liquid has been composed from its ingredients. For example, for a typical liquid, once propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings and, if relevant, nicotine are combined. This would be the point at which products are charged with duty.
I guess in theory the duty would still be payable and making 50ml of blueberry custard in the kitchen will technically be illicit manufacturing, but I doubt HMRC will care as long as you're not selling it.
