What's new

bbc news

I don't think many folk would have a problem with restricting sales to under 18s but this article has the same misleading information as many others out there.

It states that there are concerns over the lack of regulation, which suggests that there is currently NO regulation. I wish these idiots would realise that vaping equipment is covered by general product regs. just like most other electrical devices.

edited to add:

I've put a complaint in to the BBC about this article stating that vaping devices ARE currently regulated.. probably won't do much good but if anyone else wants to have a moan at them here's a link to their complaints site : https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?reset=#anchor

And once again, instead of explaining about PG/VG and flavourings to the ill informed, they opt for "Other Chemicals".

In my opinion it would be more appropriate to use the term "other chemicals" when talking about most of the stuff we eat and drink, but no, they call them ingredients to put our minds at rest.

Scare mongering as per bloody usual.

Age regulation yes, the rest of the article with the ill-informed opinions of Stewart Maxwell, NO. Scotland as a whole has one of the highest amounts of smokers in the UK: the use of 'e cigarettes' or my preferred term PVDs, would be of the greatest benefits there surely?

That`s true @clint and what the fuck them plugin things are about that makes your house smell like a Norwegian Pine forest beats me. I have been to peoples houses in the past and they have one in most of the rooms, no wonder people are suffering with breathing problems and skin conditions. You know there was once a time when I was at school, if anybody had asthma they were classed as a freak, now look at the number of cases.

The vapourizers that emit smells to the room,I asked my GF to buy a heap to cancel the smell of animals first thing of a morning.I discovered that they were giving me such a headache when mixing with my roll-up smoking that we quit using them. Now I'm the one emitting the smells to cancel out the animals personal hygiene, but these smells are much nicer than the chemically odours from a Haze/Febreeze device.

Is it true that in 2016 electronic cigarettes will be classed as medicine? and controlled possibly with a 4mg limit?
or is that yet more mis informed news reporters scare mongering?
i have signed as many petitions as possible written to local mp's i just feel that no matter what us vapers do the men in suits will just go ahead and do what benefits there pockets regardless.
i personally think all ecigs that look like analog cigarettes that are sold in corner shops, tesco, the range, etc.. should be eliminated as they are shite and they are marketed are a good thing and put on show where non smokers and children can see them.
i hate the stigma that goes with electronic cigarettes, whenever there is a news artical about them they always show a crappy skycig or similar device that looks like a analog cigarettes with a silly light at the end, they never show some dude with a massive 18650 mod with a kayfun ontop.
rant over lol

The government up here are even more backward than Westminster because they feel more so that they have something to prove - as in we are a real parliament - they're really not they're a dog and pony show which were given small powers to keep em quiet - I wouldn't worry too much about msp's they're mickey mouse politicians.
