What's new

so what is the best direct lung rda?

I threw an SXK Insider into my basket with my latest order of 2 more Exocets and another boro tank from FT.

The post screws are wire cutters and they want to back off once tightened. Other than that the Insider, with no restriction and the wider bored chimney, is a very decent DL. There's a tad more air than the Exocet though I'm putting that down to the offset airduct creating some bypass. It's not quite as smooth and flavourful as the Exocet but I've only tried one build so far.

Pros over the Exocet - easier to build, doddle to wick, looks better in the tank with no wick tails showing, takes up less space so allows more juice, decent amount of 510 threads for building etc., chimney options.
Get the coil position right, replace the screws and it's a real contender. I don't think I'd fork out for a genuine Exocet but I just might for the Insider.

take the screws out and sand the bottom .. had the wire cutter thing on a few rda's ..got a 1 ohm build in the exo atm .. next time i'll pull that back a bit .8 1 less wrap ..
but then again this time I tried kanth .. but prefer ss ..

I had the same issue with my SXK Insider. The screws actually had no sharp edges and were filed down nicely. I did however notice that the post screw has quite a ways to go before bottoming out, so my wire was shearing off on the outside of the post hole from the angle created by the post screw attempting to close this distance. Tried to make a diagram to better understand. Hope it's not too confusing. I haven't used the SXK Insider since then but I was planning to file any sharp edges on the actual post holes themselves.
