Ni80 wire better flavour?

I've been vaping for 7 years and have always built my coils with kanthal A1 wire when using wattage mode. When I buy a new atty I usually just bin any included coils but a couple of days ago I rebuilt my True rta with an Ni80 coil that came with my vapefly galaxies rdta and I really believe that I am getting far better flavour from this wire.
Am I deluding myself?

I think that kanthal gives off a taste. It might be that this interferes with flavour, masks it, you could say. People that use it all the time are accustomed to this and don’t even notice it. They will say it doesn’t taste of anything.

I also find ni80 gives off a taste. But less so than kanthal. So maybe you are perceiving better flavour because it’s less masked by the default taste of the wire.

Stainless wire is the best in my opinion. It doesn’t give off any taste that I can detect.

Thanks, I suppose you are correct that all wire will have an underlying taste.
Perhaps I just find the ni80 taste less noticeable than kanthal and therefore I am getting more of the flavour of the eliquid coming through.
I have never used SS as it has very low resistance for wattage mode compared to kanthal and for TC I prefer nife30.
I reckon I will be buying a reel of the ni80 and giving it a long term trial.

Make sure to buy it from Stealthvape. I've been able to taste Nife30 more than any other wire, fine once it oxidises/beds in. I don't get any noticeable taste from kanthal but do initially with ni80 but it goes pretty quickly - and the cheap crap supplied ni80 coils I've found to be unusable as they tasted foul! I never persevered with SS as I found it difficult to work with and had a poor experience with it so never went back to it. Wick plays a part too, some people can taste certain cottons.

Yeah, I always buy from stealthvape and I pulse all wire at low power before wicking.

I believe it ramps up a bit quicker than kanthal. Perhaps it suits certain flavours better.

I've only tried it with the one rta and one flavour but I plan to try others when the reel from stealthvape arrives.
Hopefully, I get a similar result with others as the improvement in flavour is quite noticeable to my taste buds.

I went through a spell of using it and really got on with it. I can't remember why I switched back to kanthal. Possibly it may be that some juices taste really sweet using it. Will have another go with it I think.

Im back giving Ni80 a go, its with pre-made PC Coils, they are good, I notice no taste from them, I did with the cheap n nasty reel I had years ago.
Never really got on with SS, fast ramp up, unpredictable, better suited to TC in my opinion.

The sweetness thing could have something to do with it @rew as I have switched over the past couple of months to dessert flavours from the tobacco flavours that I had vaped for years.
