UK Incremental Smoking Ban (Tobacco & Vapes Bill) Starts Journey Into Law

Completely agree with you @phatbhoy , it's a real shame that the powers to be dont see reason and common sense. I'm saddened to say that no amount of public response is going to make a blind bit of difference. They will destroy vaping as we know it. I feel sorry for those wishing to seriously quit smoking as in my experience vaping was the only avenue that worked for me and many others that I know too.

I dont think what will be left will entice smokers to switch to vaping if we have no flavour choices and the cost is no longer favorable.

For a while now I've ensured I and my family have enough hardware and supplies to maintain our vaping journey for a long time to come. We know what's coming and it really doesnt look good. As someone else said, stock up, lock up, vape on.
TBH @Richard Winter when I seen how vaping was literally destroyed in the US with no case to answer re harm, I knew then that we were on a hiding to nowt. The US and its businesses would attempt to make a profit the very day the world ended so, if their officialdom was determined to destroy the industry, it was obvious that if not in the US, then nowhere......from that time I have amassed enough to do me and mine 'till it won't matter :57:

As you say @phatbhoy , it's been on the cards for quite a while now. So many different countries have jumped on the bandwagon over the last couple of years so it was only a matter of time before we followed suit. From being world leaders in the vaping scene to following others like sheep to the slaughter doesnt bode well.

Like you I'm covered till the end of time but still hope vaping will survive if not thrive in the coming months/years ahead. Always the optimist lol.

I will be alright, i can make juice from cough mixture if need be, and i don't vape nic anymore. I fight this for smokers mostly, they have to be allowed the opportunities and diversity we had when we first peered through a shop window at this weird new thing.

I hear what your saying @dansus and couldn't agree more. I would always fight and voice my opinions for the same reasons you've mentioned. My fear is we are not being heard and are not of sufficient numbers to make the governments to back track on this.

Apart from us vapers, the majority of the population believe all the bollocks that is being spouted by the media and our governments about how bad vaping is, with lots of folk I've spoken with saying it's worse than smoking. Changing that mindset now is one hell of an uphill struggle.

Petitions will only get ignored and brushed under the carpet as we saw with the previous petitions. When a public consultation comes out the wording and only options to answer are a joke and so biased to suit their desired outcome. Until major organisations and people in power question the lies and fictional facts that are being rammed down our throats, nothing will happen.

As I said in my earlier message, I continue to be optimistic and hope that the final outcome after this government of ours have done their best to destroy a product and industry that has saved thousands of lives is not as drastic as I fear.

i don’t see much of a fight going on. without meaning this in a dismissive or condescending way, mostly people seem to be signing petitions and moaning on here.

is there other stuff going on? people getting out and about, organising, doing other stuff?

That's the problem, there isn't much other happening than what you've mentioned.

We're a minority amongst the population, minorities often get crushed. The details that haven't been included yet, like will they fuck around with hardware etc? Backed up by vape trade organisations who want returning customers on a weekly basis, not DIY juicemakers or hobbyist vapers.

The Tories didn't give a flying fuck about most things, including vaping, business is business, let the market dictate, until they had to do something about underage vaping and D's.

Well I think the Tories lit the touch paper, now the other lot will blow it out the water. I wouldn't put anything past what they will do. Once the Disposables get banned the rest will follow in some form or another. Which led me on to my earlier comment about stocking up. Once we've got it they cant take it away.

100% agree, I foresee an extra tax on hardware, as an absolute minimum.
I think that will most likely happen. I've continued down the route of external battery mods and RTAs. I still have all my old mech mods as I fear even if pods etc a are still available, the pods and coils for them wont be. It's bad enough already that you cant get pods for 2yr old devices. Rebuildables is the way to go.
