UK Incremental Smoking Ban (Tobacco & Vapes Bill) Starts Journey Into Law

If they were to ban tobacco of any sort and ban vapes, that’s a massive loss of tax of one sort or another . They would need to tax something else instead, or lift other taxes in some way.
‘Tis true, but you said it was a way to increase tax. It isn’t.
It results in a situation that will require the lost/reduced revenue stream to be sourced from somewhere else.

Interesting that -
Health Secretary Victoria Atkins told LBC Sir Winston would not have been affected by the proposed ban.
"Winston Churchill as an adult would still be able to smoke his cigars. What we're doing with this legislation is stopping children from taking it up in their teenage years," she said.
So she is either lying, missing the point, or completely stupid...

It is it not just targeting children (who are already banned from being sold tobacco anyway!).
Via the incremental prohibition, it will gradually prohibit adults from being sold tobacco as well.

To be honest the Labour bloke was scary when he was talking about vaping.

Thanks, watched a little bit just now, and 2 politicians have commented that it is simply unfair that the onus of the generational smoking ban will fall on retailers.

And why should people just above the age change who want to smoke have to show ID every time they buy fags FOR THEIR WHOLE LIFE.

On the 3rd politician now, and they have all been saying how crazy the incremental smoking ban would be...
This Bill is NOT the way to do it.
