Yep,I made the same mistake as well. Switching to an undoubled wick meant I got loads of clearance around the coil and I don't need a bog roll on the coffee table anymore! :-)

How has the wider hole changed the vape experience for you ocd13?

Geez. I find it hard enough trying to wrap round the doubled wick, lol

How about a hybrid wick. I find trying to coil around silica difficult. it's either too loose or to tight. Too tight you end up cutting through the wick. Wrap some ss mesh around it & you dont have to worry about going through the silica. (make sure to oxidise the ss mesh first)

That is 1.7 ohms using 0.2 kanthal

Finally ...

Had another go at wicking the Igo tonight and it all seemed to come together pretty effortlessly. Vaping away like a steam train !!!

This 2mm silica .... Is it the best one to use ???

I used 3mm (because it's all I had), doubled it up, came out looking like this and it worked really well:

I have no idea what the wick is, it came with an genny atomiser I bought!!

It looks like a braided silica wick, they are more durable and easy to handle and also produce less "dust".
